With the huge decrease in temperatures in winter, several kinds of bone diseases emerged. Bone diseases such as osteoporosis, arthritis, cervical and lumbar vertebra diseases, rheumatism in the legs, scapulohumeral periarthritis etc. will recur in this season, especially the pains in lumbar and legs.
The patients who are suffering from bone diseases are mainly working-class in their elder ages. So the daily service can not satisfy their diversified healthy demands, what they need is professional and scientific health service. The headquarters of HUGE and the orthopedic disease rehabilitation administration center of CPAM held three “Bones and Health” lectures on Nov. 7th, 10th, and 15th in Wuhan. Each lecture activity had 100 people attending, and the old and the applicants were very active. It is the prelude of the public science popularization activity of “Prevent Scientifically, Far Away From Bone Diseases, Stay Healthy and Care Others of the Bright Rehabilitation of Bone Disease Project of China”.
Combined with the traits of the elder’s healthy situation, common bone diseases, the causes of several bone diseases and the prevention of bone diseases etc., the speaker took examples, facts and other easy understood things to tell people how to prevent bone diseases and how to care themselves.“After listening to this lecture, I had learned a lot. I paid little attention to bone health, and went to see a doctor when I had symptoms. If I had not got well, I was upset and anxious which led to blind treatment. Now I understand the key is to know our bones. If I prevent it early and choose a scientific way, I will save a lot of money and will suffer less pains.” One patient said after the lecture.
